General Manager
As I stepped into the role of General Manager at Custom Wytelyne Powder Coating Ltd on May 2, 2024, I felt a blend of excitement and responsibility. With 28 years in the coatings industry, I had navigated through various roles in sales, production, and management across four companies. Each experience shaped my understanding of the business and the importance of quality and innovation in our work.
The transition to this new company came after the previous owner’s decision to retire. I knew I was taking on a legacy, and I was determined to honour it while steering the company toward growth and modernization. My first months were spent meeting with the team, understanding our processes, and identifying areas where we could improve. Collaboration became my mantra as we brainstormed ideas and shared insights, igniting a renewed passion within the team.
Balancing my professional life with my family was vital to me. I’m married to my wonderful wife, and together we have two beautiful daughters. Our journey as foster carers for ten years enriched our lives and taught us invaluable lessons about compassion, resilience, and teamwork—qualities that I now apply in my management style.
As the months progressed, I felt the company transforming, much like a fresh coat of powder on a surface awaiting its new life. Together, we embraced challenges, celebrated successes, and fostered a culture of innovation. It wasn’t just about powder coating; it was about creating a community where everyone felt valued and inspired.
Reflecting on my journey, I realize that my work is not just a job but a passion. Each day at Custom Wytelyne is a new opportunity to build something meaningful—not only for the company but also for my family, reminding me that the impact of our work extends far beyond the factory walls.
